Self-Tailing One and Two Speed Winches
Self-tailing winches are ideal for sheets, halyards and control lines on racing and cruising boats. The self-tailing mechanism means that one crew member can quickly and easily trim or raise sails without the need for also tailing the line. One-speed winches drive in one direction and ratchet in the other to facilitate cranking under high loads. Two-speed winches enable quick grinding in the first gear and when the line load increases, the second gear gives more power.
